BRIDGING THE GAP

I already told about lecture given by Columbian writer and biographer of Garcia Marques in Latvia on 6th of November. If you have missed my previous posts, more about the event read here: https://travelingaround50.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=1810&action=edit&message=1

It seems that very comprehensive biography to Gabriel Garcia Marques is The Cambridge Introduction to Gabriel Garcia Marques. It incorporates also work done by Dasso Saldivar. Read the book (hopefuly) online here: http://books.google.lv/books?id=pGeXykOL6p4C&pg=PA139&lpg=PA139&dq=dasso+saldivar+biographer+of+marquez&source=bl&ots=vyIqoo2iUe&sig=vKmPVyyV77zXwL98n4NHv2qpVwc&hl=en&sa=X&ei=BzyCUsrBFImG4ASf5oGIDw&ved=0CEMQ6AEwAw#v=onepage&q=dasso%20saldivar%20biographer%20of%20marquez&f=false Shame but again I could not find anything about Dasso Saldivar in English. This much about the gap that divides English speaking anf Spanish speaking worlds. Typical that Spanish speakers don’t bother to learn English and English speakers think that it’s enough, if you knoe English and don’t bother to learn Spanish.

And here are some photos to prove my attendance 😀  (And also Saldivar’s so to say :))
